Scripting News for 12/26/2006

BBC: Ex-US President Gerald Ford dies

51 people signed up for the meet in NYC on Thurs, 5:30PM, location TBD.

After NY, I head back to Calif for a brief stop then on to Las Vegas for the Consumer Electronics Show. Podtech is my host, I’ll be using their facilities at the Bellagio, hanging out with the Scobles and Furrier, and my fave, Valeriewag

BTW, a little bird whispered in my ear that the next time you hear from Scoble he’ll be far far away from California, doing something interesting, and surprisingly political.

Interesting guess. 🙂

  1. Ah, I wish I could be going to the NYC meetup.

Happy Holidays to you, dollin Dave. One of my New Year’s goals is to encourage you to get in good hiking shape so you can ascend Half Dome with us this summer. What do you think?

All the best from yer fan and friend,

  2. I like the one-day’s-posts-only simplification.

Knowing what to throw away is always a tough call,
esp. in UI. IE7, for example, throws too much
    away (coherence especially).

  3. Dave,

Please make show the previous few days’ commentary again. It makes your bon mots much harder to enjoy.

    Re: Scoble —

Tagging along this week with John Edwards as he makes his announcement tour, which wraps over in Chapel Hill on the 30th?

If that’s not it, it oughta be.

  5. Note that Ray Charles will be lying in state at the Apollo Theater on Thursday, possibly something to combine with the nyMeetup.

Wow! I thought Ray Charles would have been buried by now. He’s been dead for 2 1/2 years.

  8. I think you mean James Brown, Raines.

Apple iTunes hasn’t updated any rss (podcaster) feeds since Dec. 21.
Lot’s of podcasters angry. Probably busy ’cause of xmas sales.
Guess podcasters aren’t as important as their paying customers. Daily shows out of luck Christmas specials never appeared.
    Ping away and nobody answers.

  10. Dave, we’re hosting a blogger party in Vegas on Jan 9th. Hope you can come.

All bloggers attending the show are welcome, just send Teresa and email with contact info, and a link to a post on their blog. She will follow up with a formal invite. Her email is teresa AT blogbusinesssummit dot com.

    Hope you can be there…

  11. Kirstie,

Do you mean that if you subscribe in iTunes, the updates don’t show up? Several of the podcasts that I subscribe to via iTunes have updated in the last few days (ze frank, for instance).

(If I’m misunderstanding you of course, the information that mine works probably isn’t much use.)

They do update but the new (latest) shows do not appear in the preview page in the iTunes store of that particular podcast (ze Frank’s last one shows the 21 of Dec. as last show).
This applies to every podcaster. No one has a new show appearing in their preview page on iTunes (after the 21 of Dec.). They will however, download. If you’ve subscribed it will download but newest or latest show will not display on iTunes podcast preview.

  13. Kirstie,

Ah, I did misunderstand. They seem to be up now, however. Is that true for you? I see the 12/27 ze frank in the iTunes store entry.
